Key Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Operate Grader to fine grade tolerances, spread & push piles of sand, soil and aggregate materials to the specified grade
  • Clean and perform basic maintenance to equipment and report any necessary requirements
  • Safely Operate Grader on public roadways, maintaining awareness of surroundings and utilities
  • Demonstrate an understanding of grades and interpret roadway plans and drawings
  • Move construction materials, earth, and other heavy materials at construction sites.
  • Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance

JAW CRUSHER OPERATOR

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Maintain site cleanliness, and perform general labour activities, including but not limited to shoveling in and around the belts and crusher
  • Checks stockpile to ensure product quality and mix material to desired consistency
  • Perform daily checks on conveyors, screen deck and crusher box
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance work on machinery
  • Report crusher issues and required wear parts to the supervisor in a timely manner
  • Monitor the plant to ensure it is running safely and production is consistent
  • Perform tracked conveyor moves as needed
  • Adjust crusher settings to optimize performance and gradation

Under the supervision of the QC Manager, the seasonal QC Technicians will perform a wide variety of tests primarily associated with road construction materials – aggregates, concrete, and asphalt products. The successful candidates will work closely with other QC Technicians and field crews to fulfil the needs of the business, working primarily from May to November each year. On the Job Training will be provided. As a QC Tech your duties will include:
  • On-site testing and sample collection
  • Distribution checks for asphalt & base operations
  • Concrete plastic and strength testing
  • Data collection and data entry into computerized programs
  • Daily travel to jobs will be required
  • Laboratory testing on various materials
Your experience includes:
  • High School education or equivalent combination of education and experience

This position is responsible for survey, design and machine control duties.

Requirements include:

  • Solid understanding and use of total stations, leveling instruments, GNSS equipment, laser alignment equipment and other surveying equipment that may be used.
  • Working knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, standards and construction methods.
