ASPHALT LABOURERS
for our Country Division
Primary Responsibilities:
- Complete physical work including shoveling, raking and sweeping
- Experience in performing asphalt work with related heavy equipment
Requirements:
- Ability to work out of town if necessary
- Previous experience in the asphalt paving industry
- Ability to work in all weather conditions – primarily outdoors
- Must hold valid driver’s license
- Ability to work long hours and some weekends based on business needs
- Punctual, reliable, and hard working

AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Duties Include:
- Complete physical work including shoveling, raking and sweeping
- Experience in performing asphalt work with related heavy equipment
- Inspect, maintain and repair company vehicles
- Perform safety checks and vehicle inspections for licensing and insurance
- Test parts and systems to ensure they are working properly
- Follow checklists to ensure all critical parts are examined
- Perform basic care and maintenance, including oil changes, tune-ups, fluid level checks, and rotating tires
- Repair or replace parts
- Maintain and repair small gas engines
- Disassemble and reassemble parts
- Use testing equipment to ensure effective maintenance
Requirements and Experience:
- Ability to work extended hours (up to 16 hours per shift during peak season including weekends)
- Must have a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License (Class 3 or 1 License with Air Brake Endorsement an asset)
- Candidate must have a complete set of Mechanic’s hand tools on their first day of employment
- Ability to work with little or no supervision at times
- Work within a group and/or independently
- Must be physically capable of routine manual labour components of the position, which may include heavy lifting
- Be detail oriented, mechanically inclined and can trouble shoot
- Minimum of level 2 to journeyman with future education opportunities
- Electronic systems experience in GM, Ford and Dodge products an asset
CLASS 3 WATER/TANDEM DRIVERS/LABOURERS
for our Country Asphalt Crew (work outside of Winnipeg)
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the Tandem and equipment safely
- Perform maintenance check and pre-trip inspections
- Ensure proper loading of aggregates and verify the type and weight of materials being hauled
- Ensure on-time delivery of aggregates and other road construction materials
- Maintain truck box to remove any/all debris when necessary
- Perform miscellaneous labour activities throughout the say as necessary
Skills / Qualifications:
- Class 3 driver’s license and clean abstract
- 2 years experience in road construction industry preferred
- Confident ability to back up loader trailers
- Knowledge of constructions materials
- Must be physically fit, ability to lift, bend, and regularly climb in an out of vehicles
- Good attitude, punctual, ability to work independently as we as with others
- Must be able to take direction well and communicate effectively
- Ability to work extended hours including weekends if necessary
DISPATCH
As a Dispatch your duties will include:
- Coordinating with field staff and dispatching private drivers running various materials
- Planning and assigning drivers in real-time to fulfill daily requirements
- Ensuring all drivers time, job number and quantities are logged, documented, and invoiced accurately
- Requesting and updating permits as required
- Handling complaints and investigating accident and/or incidents
- Continuously improve route planning and dispatching processes to reduce delays and maximize delivery success
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- A minimum 2+ years of dispatch experience in aggregate or heavy construction operations
- Background in logistics, transportation, or construction preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work under pressure
- Effective time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Able to manage multiple drivers, routes, and priorities under tight timelines
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
- Able and willing to work long hours Monday to Friday with some weekend work
GROUNDMAN
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and general repairs and regular service on equipment daily
- Perform pre-shift inspection, maintain equipment repairs/maintenance records
- Perform general cleanliness of assigned equipment.
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements:
- Knowledge of Asphalt plants, conveyors, loaders, equipment considered an asset
- Passion for safety and knowledge and understanding of the Safety Act and relevant standards
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools
- Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time; grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, or pull, push, bend and lift up to 80 pounds
- Physical abilities including long periods of standing, lifting, working at heights
- Minimum of 1-year related experience required
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Welding/torch cutting experience desired
- Communicate effectively with Plant Operator
HEAVY DUTY EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN
As the equipment technician your duties will include:
- Diagnosing and repairing diesel and/or other internal combustion engines, transmissions and/or hydraulic equipment, all related electrical and auxiliary equipment
- Developing a working knowledge of the technical and administrative procedures necessary to perform the duties of a Journeyperson heavy duty equipment technician
- Lubricate, service, diagnose, repair, assemble and maintain equipment and perform other routine maintenance work
- Ensure repairs and maintenance follow manufacturer specifications and safety regulations
- Complete work orders upon completion of each job
- Diagnostics with a computer
- Training and directing Apprentices may be required
Your experience includes:
- High School or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum level 3 up to journey person
Requirements:
- Our candidate must have a complete set of Mechanic’s hand tools on their first day of employment
- Must be physically capable of routine manual labour components of the position, which may include heavy lifting (up to 100lbs), maneuvering within or around large equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, diesel exhaust fumes and chemical agents used in the mechanical field
- Strong computer skills
- Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to problem solve
- Follow the safety program including all policies, procedures and practices
- Must have a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License
- Ability to work extended hours (up to 16 hours per shift during peak season including weekends) and be on-call as required
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision
JAW CRUSHER OPERATOR
For Pit 88 – Stonewall
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain site cleanliness, and perform general labour activities, including but not limited to shovelling in and around the belts and crusher
- Checks stockpile to ensure product quality and mix material to desired consistency
- Perform daily checks on conveyors, screen deck and crusher box
- Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance work on machinery
- Report crusher issues and required wear parts to the supervisor in a timely manner
- Monitor the plant to ensure it is running safely and production is consistent
- Perform tracked conveyor moves as needed
- Adjust crusher settings to optimize performance and gradation
- Complete all necessary daily paperwork. May include but not limited to, daily logs, vehicle inspection logs, hours of service, etc.
- Remove build up from under or around crushers and beltlines
- Shut down equipment as required in the event of an emergency, blockages or end of shift
- Conduct daily pre-shift safety checks (area inspection, e-stops)
- Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations
Requirements:
- Ability to perform manual labour and lift up to 50 pounds
- Have mechanical knowledge and experience with general equipment maintenance
- Flexible to work extended hours, and weekends when required
- Able to promote a positive and safe work environment in a physically demanding and fast paced work environment
- Comfortable working outdoors, in extreme weather conditions, and in a noisy and dusty environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Use of personal protection equipment is required
- Must hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Ability to communicate specific instructions clearly, firmly and in a courteous manner

PAYROLL MANAGER
Key Responsibilities Include:
Payroll Processing & Compliance
- Manage and oversee bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees
- Ensure compliance with Manitoba Employment Standards, CRA requirements and The Construction Industry Wages Act
- Calculate and process bonuses, overtime, premiums and living-out allowances (per diems)
- Handle seasonal layoffs and Records of Employment (ROEs)
- Reconcile payroll remittances
- File and distribute T4s, T4As, and year-end payroll report
System & Reporting
- Maintain and optimize payroll system (Viewpoint Spectrum)
- Collaborate with HR to ensure taxable benefits are accurate
- Prepare payroll reports for Finance and Project Managers, as requested
- Ensure accurate GL coding and reconciliation of payroll-related accounts
Employee Relations & Support
- Act as the primary contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees and supervisors
- Provide guidance on payroll policies, deductions, benefits, and earnings statements
Leadership & Process Improvement
- Supervise and mentor payroll staff; ensure cross-training for business continuity
- Develop and implement payroll procedures, internal controls, and audit processes
- Partner with HR on benefits administration
- Stay current on legislation changes, CRA updates, and industry practices in construction payroll
Required:
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, required
- PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) required; CPM (Certified Payroll Manager) preferred
- 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Previous experience in construction payroll strongly preferred
- Experience with project/job costing and field-based payroll systems, an asset
- Proficiency in payroll and accounting software – knowledge of Viewpoint Spectrum, a definite asset
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
- Understanding of collective agreements, prevailing wage laws, and industry-specific allowances
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
TRUCK TRANSPORT TECHNICIAN
As the Truck & Transport Technician your duties will include:
- Inspection, Diagnosis, maintenance and repair the following: diesel and/or other internal combustion engines, transmissions, drive train, ABS, suspension, general air brake repairs and/or hydraulic equipment, all related electrical and auxiliary equipment, etc.
- Manitoba Government Safety Inspections (if qualified) and/or repairs
- Developing a working knowledge of the technical and administrative procedures necessary to perform the duties of a Red Seal Truck and Transport Mechanic
- Computer Diagnostics
- Training and directing Apprentices (If Experienced or Qualified Journeyman)
- Other duties as assigned
Your experience includes:
- High School or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum level 2 apprentice up to Journeyman or relative experience considered
- Comfortable with using computers
- Previous welding experience an asset
- MGSI certification considered an asset
