CLASS 3 WATER/TANDEM DRIVERS/LABOURERS
for our Country Asphalt Crew (work outside of Winnipeg)
Key Responsibilities:- Operate the Tandem and equipment safely
- Perform maintenance check and pre-trip inspections
- Ensure proper loading of aggregates and verify the type and weight of materials being hauled
- Ensure on-time delivery of aggregates and other road construction materials
- Maintain truck box to remove any/all debris when necessary
- Perform miscellaneous labour activities throughout the say as necessary
- Class 3 driver’s license and clean abstract
- 2 years experience in road construction industry preferred
- Confident ability to back up loader trailers
- Knowledge of constructions materials
- Must be physically fit, ability to lift, bend, and regularly climb in an out of vehicles
- Good attitude, punctual, ability to work independently as we as with others
- Must be able to take direction well and communicate effectively
- Ability to work extended hours including weekends if necessary
FLAGGERS
For our City Base and Excavation Division
Duties include:- Direct and control traffic safely on the construction site
- General labor duties and contributing to the team as needed
- Follow, understand and apply safe job procedures, safe work practices and policies
- Must be able to work overtime and be flexible with hours (mostly day or night shift depending on job)
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Comfortable and capable of standing for long periods of time
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license and ability to commute to the jobsite at the start and end of each day
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, sun, wind, rain, etc.)
- The ability to handle stressful situations
- The ability to listen and communicate specific instructions clearly, firmly, and courteously
- Can wear CSA approved steel-toed boots
- Ability to work in the city and out of town during the season
FLAGGERS
For our City and Out of Town
Duties include:- Direct and control traffic safely on the construction site
- Operate a pilot vehicle when a jobsite may require
- General labor duties and contributing to the team as needed
- Follow, understand and apply safe job procedures, safe work practices and policies
- Must be able to work overtime and be flexible with hours (mostly day or night shift depending on job)

- Comfortable and capable of standing for long periods of time

GRADER OPERATOR
For our Country Division
Primary Responsibilities:- Operate Grader to fine grade tolerances, spread & push piles of sand, soil and aggregate materials to the specified grade
- Clean and perform basic maintenance to equipment and report any necessary requirements
- Safely Operate Grader on public roadways, maintaining awareness of surroundings and utilities
- Demonstrate an understanding of grades and interpret roadway plans and drawings
- Move construction materials, earth, and other heavy materials at construction sites.
- Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance
- Proper safety standards are adhered to
- Operate other heavy equipment and other construction related duties as assigned, including physical labour
- A minimum of 2-3 years operator experience
- Knowledge of grade control systems
- Ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently in a dynamic fast pace environment
- Physically able to repetitively lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Hold a valid class 5 driver’s license
- Ability to work out of town
- Punctual and able to work full time, overtime, and occasional weekends.
GROUNDMAN
For our Country Division
Primary Responsibilities:- Perform general maintenance and general repairs and regular service on equipment daily
- Perform pre-shift inspection, maintain equipment repairs/maintenance records
- Perform general cleanliness of assigned equipment.
- Perform other related duties as required
- Knowledge of Asphalt plants, conveyors, loaders, equipment considered an asset
- Passion for safety and knowledge and understanding of the Safety Act and relevant standards
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools
- Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time; grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, or pull, push, bend and lift up to 80 pounds
- Physical abilities including long periods of standing, lifting, working at heights
- Minimum of 1-year related experience required
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Welding/torch cutting experience desired

JAW CRUSHER OPERATOR
For Pit 88 – Stonewall
Primary Responsibilities:- Maintain site cleanliness, and perform general labour activities, including but not limited to shoveling in and around the belts and crusher
- Checks stockpile to ensure product quality and mix material to desired consistency
- Perform daily checks on conveyors, screen deck and crusher box
- Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance work on machinery
- Report crusher issues and required wear parts to the supervisor in a timely manner
- Monitor the plant to ensure it is running safely and production is consistent
- Perform tracked conveyor moves as needed
- Adjust crusher settings to optimize performance and gradation
- Complete all necessary daily paperwork. May include but not limited to, daily logs, vehicle inspection logs, hours of service, etc.
- Remove build up from under or around crushers and beltlines
- Shut down equipment as required in the event of an emergency, blockages or end of shift
- Conduct daily pre-shift safety checks (area inspection, e-stops)
- Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations
- Ability to perform manual labour and lift up to 50 pounds
- Have mechanical knowledge and experience with general equipment maintenance
- Flexible to work extended hours, and weekends when required
- Able to promote a positive and safe work environment in a physically demanding and fast paced work environment

PARTS CLERK
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Parts Clerk to join our team. The Parts Clerk is responsible for managing inventory, ordering and receiving parts, and providing support to technicians and other departments by ensuring the right parts and supplies are available when needed. This role is essential to keeping our operations running smoothly and efficiently. Key Responsibilities:- Receive, inspect, and stock incoming parts and materials
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and transactions
- Issue parts and supplies to technicians as well as MLC field personnel
- Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as necessary
- Process parts returns and warranty claims
- Organize and maintain cleanliness of parts storage area
- Assist with inventory audits and cycle counts
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding pricing, availability, and delivery

QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIANS
Under the supervision of the QC Manager, the seasonal QC Technicians will perform a wide variety of tests primarily associated with road construction materials – aggregates, concrete, and asphalt products. The successful candidates will work closely with other QC Technicians and field crews to fulfil the needs of the business, working primarily from May to November each year. On the Job Training will be provided. As a QC Tech your duties will include:- On-site testing and sample collection
- Distribution checks for asphalt & base operations
- Concrete plastic and strength testing
- Data collection and data entry into computerized programs
- Daily travel to jobs will be required
- Laboratory testing on various materials
- High School education or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Construction or QC experience an asset
- Must have a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License and use of a reliable vehicle to use for work, with comfort travelling and working outside of Winnipeg
- Willing to work long hours, primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Able and willing to work overtime throughout the work week, including weekends, when necessary
- Strong time management skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel
- Physically capable of lifting up to 30kg
- Capable of problem solving and decision making
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as a strong team member

SEWER & WATER PIPELAYERS
Requirements for the position
- A minimum 2 years’ related experience that includes ability to install fire hydrants, valves, water services, manholes, catch basins and piping. He/She must be reliable, able to work long hours out of town on occasion

- Steel-toes safety boots and hard hat are required

SURVEYOR (HIGHWAYS DIVISION)
This position is responsible for survey, design and machine control duties.
Requirements include:
- Solid understanding and use of total stations, leveling instruments, GNSS equipment, laser alignment equipment and other surveying equipment that may be used.
- Working knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, standards and construction methods.
- Working knowledge of identifying and interpreting survey control monuments.
- Diploma in Geomatics, Survey or Municipal Technology from an institute of recognized standing
- Minimum two (2) years directly related experience
- Must be physically capable of routine manual labour
- Hold a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License
- Able to work in all weather conditions and outdoor elements
- Available to work 50-70 hours per week
