Maple Leaf Construction Ltd. is currently looking to fill the position of:

TRUCK TRANSPORT TECHNICIAN

This position is for the successful candidate with a wide variety of experience in on-road Truck-Trailer repair including CVIP inspections, servicing, abs diagnostics, troubleshooting, brake, and suspension repairs. He/She must be able to work with minimal to no supervision.

As the Truck & Transport Technician your duties will include:

  • Inspection, Diagnosis, maintenance and repair the following: diesel and/or other internal combustion engines, transmissions, drive train, ABS, suspension, general air brake repairs and/or hydraulic equipment, all related electrical and auxiliary equipment, etc.
  • MGSI Manitoba Government Safety Inspections (if qualified) and/or repairs
  • Developing a working knowledge of the technical and administrative procedures necessary to perform the duties of a Journeyman Truck and Transport Mechanic
  • Computer Diagnostics
  • Training and directing Apprentice Truck & Transport Mechanics (If Experienced or Qualified Journeyman)
  • Trailer repairs as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Your experience includes:

  • High School or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum level 2 apprentice up to Journeyman or relative experience considered
  • Comfortable with using computers
  • Previous welding experience an asset
  • MGSI certification considered an asset

Requirements:

  • Our candidate must have a complete set of Mechanic’s hand tools on their first day of employment
  • Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License (Class 3 or 1 License with Air Brake Endorsement an asset)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work extended hours and shift work, weekends if necessary on occasion
  • Physically capable: position requirements, lifting (up to 100lbs), exposure to extreme weather conditions, etc.
  • Ability to work outside for field or mobile repairs as necessary
  • Ability to travel to inspect, diagnose, repair
  • Computer skills an asset
  • Previous welding experience an asset
  • MGSI certification considered an asset
  • Responsible team player
  • Customer service oriented

TRAILER TECHNICIAN

This position is for the successful candidate with a wide variety of experience in on-road trailer repair including CVIP inspections, servicing, abs diagnostics, troubleshooting, brake, and suspension repairs. He/She must be able to work with minimal to no supervision.

As the Trailer Technician your duties will include:

  • Inspect and maintain equipment
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment
  • Maintain equipment as required by equipment manufacture and company safety program
  • Keep record of and track all repairs and parts invoicing
  • Prioritize repair and maintenance requirements
  • Assist in safe operation of equipment
  • Lock out and tag out defective equipment, inspect equipment for safe operation
  • Mobile Repairs
  • MGSI Manitoba Government Safety Inspections (if qualified) and/or Repairs
  • Other duties as assigned
