UTILITY LOCATOR
Under the supervision of the Safety Manager, the Utility Locator will provide underground utility locates as required. The successful candidate will work closely with the other locators to fulfil the needs of the business.
As a locator your duties will include:
- Identify and mark underground utilities using electronic locating equipment
- Work closely with the Project managers/Supervisor/Foreman/Crew to determine job requirements and timelines
- Communicate site location and scope of work to utility owners as required using computer and phone methods
- Extensive computer use for communication and map making
- Hand digging required to assist in locates
- Daily travel to jobs required
Your experience includes:
- High School or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Construction or locating experience an asset
- Use of computers including web forms, e-mail and excel spreadsheets
Requirements:
- Must have a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License
- Have a reliable vehicle to use for work
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to multitask including managing e-mail and voicemail regularly
- Strong organizational skills
- Able to work weekends in a rotating on call schedule
- Willing to work long hours primarily outdoors
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and independently as well as within a team
- Must thrive with a hectic workload and pace

QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN – MATERIALS TESTING/PROJECT INSPECTION
Duties of the Position:
- Perform various testing on produced products, primarily road construction related materials such as, Asphalt products, Aggregates and Concrete.
- Employee will also be required to travel to different jobsites to preform onsite quality testing and collect product samples, and product inspections.
- Responsibilities will also include data collection and data entry of samples, inspections findings and test results.
Requirements for the position:
- Previous material testing an asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (mainly Excel)
- Capable of lifting up to 30 kgs
- Mechanical Knowledge an asset
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Problem solver, decision maker, and ability to work independently
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Regular out of town work and travel including the ability to work weekends as required
- Means of transportation and hold a valid class 5 Driver’s Licence

CLASS 3 TANDEM DRIVERS/LABOURERS
Duties include:
- Operate the Tandem and equipment safely
- Perform maintenance check and pre trip inspections
- Ensure proper loading of asphalt and aggregates and verify the type and weight of materials being hauled
- Ensure on-time delivery of asphalt, aggregates and other road construction materials
- Maintain truck box to remove any/all debris when necessary
- Perform miscellaneous labourer activities throughout the day as necessary
Requirements include:
- 2 years’ experience in road construction industry preferred
- Confident ability to back up loaded trailers
- Valid Class 3 Driver’s License and clean abstract
- Knowledge of construction materials
- Must be physically fit ability to lift, bend, and regularly climb in and out of vehicles
- Good attitude, punctual, ability to work independently as well as with others
- Must be able to take direction well and communicate effectively
- Ability to work long hours including weekends

TRAFFIC COORDINATOR
Reporting jointly to the Traffic Supervisor and Site Supervisor, this individual will be responsible for the logistics of all traffic while on a highway crew. This position coordinates flaggers and traffic to ensure motorists are managed while on the highway.
Duties Include:
- Collaborate with crew Supervisor and direct employees
- Ensure compliance with safety
- Record and update daily journal
- Setup of traffic zones as per specifications
- Maintain the set-up and take-down of signage
Specific Skills:
- Previous highway coordination is preferred
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Analytical problem solver, decision maker and ability to work well with others and work independently
- Ability to physically lift, bend and manage signage materials
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

GRADER OPERATOR
for our Highway division:
Duties Include
- Operate Grader to fine grade tolerances, spread & push piles of sand, soil and aggregate materials to the specified grade
- Clean and perform basic maintenance to equipment and report any necessary requirements
- Safely Operate Grader on public roadways, maintaining awareness of surroundings and utilities
- Demonstrate an understanding of grades and interpret roadway plans and drawings
- Move construction materials, earth, and other heavy materials at construction sites.
- Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance
- Proper safety standards are adhered to
- Operate other heavy equipment and other construction related duties as assigned, including physical labour
Job Requirements
- A minimum of 2-3 years operator experience
- Knowledge of grade control systems
- Ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently in a dynamic fast pace environment
- Physically able to repetitively lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Hold a valid class 5 driver’s license
- Ability to work out of town
- Punctual and able to work full time, overtime, and occasional weekends.

- A minimum 2 years’ related experience that includes ability to install fire hydrants, valves, water services, manholes, catch basins and piping. He/She must be reliable, able to work long hours, and work out of town on occasion.
