Maple Leaf Construction Ltd. is currently looking to fill the following position:

ELECTRICIAN

Reporting to the Electrical Manager, this Electrician is responsible to troubleshoot, diagnose, source materials, install, maintain and repair electrical systems within our offices, shop buildings, and on asphalt plants, concrete plant, crusher spreads, generators, yard lighting and various other electrical equipment.

OTHER DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Inspect, maintain and repair equipment
  • Troubleshoot AC motors and controls
  • Be familiar and participate in all safety regulations and procedures
  • Ensure necessary paperwork including daily work timesheets and invoices are complete and accurate
  • Coordinate his/her tasks with other workers/crews to accommodate jobsite scheduling
  • Work travel and call in will be required periodically to complete tasks and repairs
  • Effective communication and cooperation within all departments of the company

 

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must hold a valid Journeyperson Construction Electrician license
  • Aptitude for machinery with specific working knowledge of electrical motors, components and controls
  • Basic understanding of converting machinery and have the ability to troubleshoot electrical problems
  • Familiar with the Manitoba electrical codes and up to date with revisions
  • Operate within heavy construction guidelines
  • Must have a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision at times
  • Must be physically capable of routine manual labour components of the position, which may include heavy lifting
  • Be detail oriented, mechanically inclined and have the ability to trouble shoot
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions

SEWER AND WATER PIPELAYERS

Requirements for the positon:

A minimum 2 years’ related experience that includes ability to install fire hydrants, valves, water services, manholes, catch basins and piping.  He/She.must be reliable, able to work long hours, and work out of town on occasion.

Security and Safety
Basic security clearance; Criminal record check; driving record check (abstract)

Steel-toed safety boots and hard hat are required

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
Physically demanding position including work in various weather conditions, able to work some emergency work on weekends

Transportation/Travel Information
Must be able to get to jobsites

AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE TECHNICIAN

The successful candidate will inspect, maintain, and repair company vehicles and perform safety checks and vehicle inspections for licensing and insurance.

OTHER DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Inspect, maintain and repair equipment
  • Perform safety checks and vehicle inspections for licensing and insurance
  • Identify mechanical and electrical problems by using computerized diagnostic equipment and schematics
  • Test parts and systems to ensure they are working properly
  • Follow checklists to ensure all critical parts are examined
  • Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, giving tune-ups, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires
  • Repair or replace parts
  • Maintain and repair small gas engines
  • Disassemble and reassemble parts
  • Use testing equipment to ensure repairs and maintenance are effective

Requirements and Experience:

  • Ability to work extended hours (up to 16 hours per shift during peak season including weekends)
  • Must have a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License ( Class 3 or 1 License with Air Brake Endorsement an asset)
  • candidate must have a complete set of Mechanic’s hand tools on their first day of employment
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision at times
  • Work within a group and/or independently
  • Must be physically capable of routine manual labour components of the position, which may include heavy lifting
  • Be detail oriented, mechanically inclined and have the ability to trouble shoot
  • Minimum of level 2 to journeyman with future education opportunities
  • Electronic systems experience in GM, Ford and Dodge products an asset
